Sharee meets Mana

Dear friends & family,

We are working on something wonderful.

The stickers are coming in by the package loads.  Thank you so much.

Today I met with Rut and Adriana, both in charge of the local association for needy families called ‘Mana de Venado Tuerto.’ Rut is currently a professor at the local Santa Rosa college; Adriana is the retired Director.  I love how you can see my Spanish-English dictionary that I tote around everywhere. Too funny.

The association has provided six pages of names for us. Six! Wow.

We’ll keep finding.  We’ll keep organizing.  And you can keep smiling knowing that hundreds of little Argentine children will be getting a very very special Christmas this year.

Think Big. Then Think Bigger.

How was your weekend?  Ours was nice.  It feels good to serve other people, doesn’t it?

Something I’m grateful for beyond words is a good mom & dad.  I’m not sure if us kids ever had a set-in-stone family motto growing up, but we certainly had one engraved in our hearts, and it was to think big…then think bigger. 

Sometimes ideas spiral; sometimes they don’t.  And sometimes, it takes a lifetime to even really know if a little seed we planted along our way made any difference at all.  Either way, the real miracle of it all isn’t necessarily the end result, but the transformation of our own hearts as we begin to believe that we can create something big – sometimes even bigger than ourselves.

I hope my children know how important it is to always think big.

But more importantly, I hope The Sticker Project awakens in them a desire to think outside of themselves and serve.

On Saturday we headed out to the country.  We found a little boy named Aqiles (pronounced A-key-lays).  He’s only 4 years old and very very sweet. 

I’ve had several of you inquire about whether or not it’s too late to send stickers. Thank you so so much for your great big hearts, but any envelopes sent after December 1st will most likely NOT make it to us in time for Christmas :(

HOWEVER, if you’re interested in future kid-friendly simple service opportunities like The Sticker Project, we’re on it, and we’ll keep you informed.

Global Interest, Reinforcement, & a boy named Nacho

The spirit of giving is contagious.  We can hardly believe it, but The Sticker Project is turning heads throughout the United States, Canada, England, Brazil, Korea, Malaysia, Germany, Australia, & Switzerland.

Please…take a look at the The Hochstein Family in Germany sending us stickers. Amazing!

We are humbled and completely in awe of your love and participation.

We have received several photos like this one from our dear friend Julie in Connecticut,

and we even received an e-mail from a retired sticker company owner who has been going through “rolls and rolls.” Unreal.

This incredible amount of support calls for reinforcement.

Thanks to a few good friends through AnnMarie’s school, I’ve teamed up with the local Catholic church. They are working to provide a list of 100 names for us by next Tuesday.

If you haven’t already sent stickers, it’s not too late! You know you want to, and you still have one more day!

Today Carlie & I found Nacho, a 3 year old boy who has been in & out of the hospital for the past 2 months due to an inflamed internal organ. (His mom told me what organ it was, but it was a word I definitely did not recognize nor do I remember). 

Regardless, we found him, and thanks to you, he’ll be getting Christmas.

Oh, and please please remember to NOT send stickers directly to our Argentina address unless you live overseas.
